Irwindale, California, January 29, 2011- The Mexican drivers Ruben Rovelo and Daniel Suarez, who have been the Troy Williams duet sponsored by Sennheiser for the Toyota All-Star Showdown in its 8th edition, had an excellent performance, with Suarez in the 11th position and Rovelo with 68 laps until a car blew out his engine and couldn't go back to the race; however, his skills and abilities to handle the stock cars for NASCAR K&N Pro Series were patent.
The competition, agreed in 225 laps around the half mile oval of the Toyota Speedway in Irwindale, California happened to be quite rough, unfortunately one of the accidents affected Rovelo in lap 63 when car 06 blew its engine and produced a multiple crash in which car 27 of Telmex/Ocessa/Sennheiser Dodge receive the worst impact and couldn't be fixed to go back to the race.
"I'm quite disappointed because we had a great car and I could've done so much more, as my team mate did finishing in the 11th position. It was an incredible car, it had great balance and power, but races are like this, once in the top and later you're out, nothing you can do. I want to thank Sennheiser, Goodyear, Nascar Corona Series and Telmex for their support, specially Jimmy Morales and Carlos Slim for their trust and we have to thank not only in words but with victories of NASCAR Mexico." Said Rovelo.
On the other hand Daniel Suarez who drove the car #86 of Troy Williams finished with the 11th position and commented, "The Toyota All-Star Showdown has been an exciting experience, and fortunately we had an excellent car and were able to keep away from the trouble. The truth is that being able to finish the race is already a victory and we'll be looking for other races to participate in the States."
The other Mexican racing in the competition was German Quiroga, twice champion of the NASCAR Mexico and finished in the 12th position.
