After seven incredible but unforgettable days, which started in Bahias de Huatulco last October 23rd, the Panamerican Race has comes to an end today in Nuevo Laredo; it has lightened up receiving all Panamerican contenders at the finish line. The Panemerican Race has become more than a Rally and it exalts the best of Mexico tourism, but also each year it has become more solid and today it’s new champion, the Swedish, Stig Blomqvist and Ana Goni Boracco from Venezuela are being celebrated. For Jo Ramirez and Beto Cruz this has been a difficult edition and a constant fight for the podium. They closed 3rd in their category with 21 points. “It has been great, another year racing the Panamerican Race. Naturally we are hoping to be here next year and prepare ourselves more for next rally. This year has been difficult, with many strong contenders, but stretch by stretch we were able to go further, closing with a podium for the category, which is good” These were his first words arriving at the finish line in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas. “Today’s stretch, with almost 700 kilometers took place with less speed and required more control. We did an excellent job, had no mistakes and kept ourselves among the leading group all the time, reason why we could finish in the podium. We thank all who made this year’s rally possible for us, thank to TELMEX, thanks to so many people who have showed us their love and respect in each city we went through. I’m happy and grateful and of course we’ll be back next year.” finished Jo. |
